ABOUT
Therese Willstedt was born in Sweden year 1984.
Therese is a director and documentarist. She graduated as a stage director in year 2012 at The Danish National School of Performing Arts.
Therese is resident in Denmark, and professionally active mainly in Scandinavia and Germany.
Alongside her main areas she has directed documentary films and a VR-movie which was exhibited at Copenhagen Contemporary art galleries. Therese has also taught at the directing department at The Danish National School of Performing Arts, and at The Royal Danish Ballet (National Stage of Danmark) Koreorama, and further at the Old City Youth Association (via Palmecentret ABF) in Jerusalem and at Cortona week organized by ETH Zurich and the Zurich University of Arts.
During the years 2016-2017 Therese held a longterm contract at The Danish Royal Theatre as an in-house director and also held a seat in the artistic board. She also held a seat in the danish directors union board, during year 2017. As of autumn 2017 Therese took the position as CEO / Manager Director and Artistic Director of AB Regionteatern Blekinge Kronoberg. And during her time at Regionteatern (2017-2021)
Therese has established Swedens first Citizen Stage, ”Medborgarscenen”.
In 2020, Therese was recognized for her work as artistic director and CEO via third place recipient of "Female leads of the future 2020"-award. ( An award by Sweden’s professional organization for executives "Ledarna")

AWARDS
Honored with third place recipient of "Female leads of the future 2020"-award, for her achievements as CEO and Artistic Director at Regionteatern. The award is is arranged by Sweden’s professional organization for executives "Ledarna"
( The award is not limited to Sweden, many of the candidates work for international companies and are stationed abroad. )
HONOURS
The documentary film Why is it important to remind me of what you think I am? was selected to be part of the Ekko Shortlist in 2024.
The Ekko Shortlist is a top 10 of the best Danish short films right now.
Nominated as "The future female leader 2019" by the Swedish organization Ledarna, for her achievements as CEO and Artistic Director at Regionteatern from year 2017-2019
Nominated as "Director of the year 2015" by Reumert Prize, (Danish National Theatre Prize)
for her production of ”The Elephant man/ Elefantmanden”, Odense Teater 2015
Nominated as "Director of the year 2013" by Reumert Prize (Danish National Theatre Prize)
for her production of ”Røverne”/The robbers”, Aalborg Teater 2013
